We collect information regarding the users of our website and service and their use of our website and service in an effort to improve the experience of our visitors and users and communicate effectively with our existing and prospective customer organizations and individual users. We recognize that we must maintain and use this information responsibly and, therefore, have implemented this privacy policy.

By using our website or Digication service, you consent to the information practices described in this privacy policy. If you do not agree with our privacy policy, please do not use our website or our Digication service. If our information practices change in the future, we will let you know by posting the changes to our privacy policy on our website. Your continued use of our website or our Digication service following the posting of changes to our privacy policy will mean you accept the changes.

If you at any time have any questions about our privacy policy, please contact us in the manner described in Section 9 below.

1. What Information Do We Collect and Why?

We invite visitors to our website who represent a potential customer or organization (educational institution, company, etc.) to provide us with an email address and/or other personal contact information so that we may contact them and provide them additional information regarding Digication. We do not distribute or otherwise share with any third party any personal information that any individual or organization provides to us before that individual or organization registers to use Digication.

When you as an individual register to use Digication, we require you to give us, if you have not already done so, personal information, including your name, email address, and the name, address, and nature of the organization (school, company, etc.) with which you are affiliated. Where your organization registers you for a Digication account they may provide some or all of this personal information, and we may also store additional information that your organization has provided to be associated with your accounts, such as graduation date, major, credit information, additional account metadata, or a unique identifier (also known as SyncID or Account ID), which may be an ID number in use at your organization or a repeat of basic information, such as username or email address. You will also be required to confirm that you are 13 years of age or older (16 if you are located in the European Union) or that you have the permission of a guardian to register for Digication if you are under 13 years of age. If you register on behalf of an educational institution, company, department, program, classroom, or other organization (to enable your organization to use the administration features of Digication and make Digication available to some or all of its potential users, without limitation), we also will or may require you to give us information concerning your authority to legally bind your organization, and financial and billing information for you or your organization, such as a billing name and address, credit card or purchase order number, and the number of instructors, students and other authorized users that will be using Digication under the organization’s subscription.

Please Note: We do not allow children under the age of 13 to register for Digication without the permission of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian who gives permission may at any time later review, delete or refuse to allow the further collection of information concerning the child by contacting our liaison at the child’s school or by contacting us directly at support@digication.com. If you are located in the European Union you must be 16 years of age or older to register for Digication. We do not require more information from children than is reasonably necessary to enable them to use Digication; we do not use any special game, prize, or other activity to entice children to provide more information than is necessary to enable them to use Digication; and we do not share any personal information about children with any third party.

Unless your organization utilizes a single-sign-on login method to authenticate their users, we use the email address you or your organization provide to us during registration to confirm your username and password and to provide you with a link to use to log onto Digication, activate your account and thereafter use Digication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your username and password.

After you register for Digication, we may ask you for additional personal information about yourself in order to make certain features of Digication available to you, enable third parties to offer you related services or for other purposes, such as the provision of customer service, billing, network management, synchronization of information, surveys and other exchanges of information. We may from time to time send you information regarding your account, updates to Digication, and administrative or other information regarding Digication. You may opt out of receiving future promotional material at any time (please see our opt-out policy in section 5 below).

We may collect other information, such as internet addresses, from visitors to our website and from users of Digication. This information is logged to help us diagnose technical problems, administer our website, and improve the quality of Digication. We may also track and analyze non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information from visitors to our website and users of Digication, and provide this information to third parties.

When you use Digication, you will be identified by name or username in areas where names or usernames appear. Please remember that this information and any other information you disclose about yourself in these areas may become available to the instructor, students, or other persons authorized to access these areas including, in the case of public areas within Digication, members of the general public. Except as we explicitly state at the time we request the information, or as provided for in our Terms of Use and Customer Subscription Terms, we do not disclose your personal information to third parties outside of Digication. The only financial and billing information we collect is used to check the financial qualifications of our prospective and registered customers or organizations and to bill our customers and organizations for Digication. We do not use the billing information we collect on our customers or organizations for marketing or promotional purposes without their permission. If we accept credit cards as payment for any aspect of Digication, we use a third-party intermediary to manage the credit card processing, and this intermediary is simply a link in the distribution chain and has no authority to store, retain, or use personal information, except for the purpose of such processing. If we offer and you make use of a referral service in Digication to let another person know about Digication, we will ask you for the other person’s name and email address and automatically send the other person a one-time email inviting them to visit our website, but we will not store this information. Digication allows you and other users to post and share content. We do not review, share, distribute, print, or reference such content, or allow any third party to do so, except as provided in our Terms of Use and Customer Subscription Terms, or as may be required by law. Your individual records may be viewed or accessed for the purpose of resolving a problem, support issue, or suspected violation of our Terms of Use or Customer Subscription Terms, or as may be required by law.

Third-party partners may help us provide some of the features and content included in Digication. You or we may need to share your personal information with one or more of our third-party partners in order for you to access and use such features or content. You can prevent the sharing of this information by not accessing the feature or content.
